While teaching in Grafton, Vermont, Tom fell in love with the town's history and the impact that the Civil War had in its development. Educating students about local history has always been a passion of Tom's, thus he wrote his first book The Messenger Boy of Grafton. His next book, The Grafton Cavaliers, intended for all ages, but especailly younger readers, also captures much of Vermont's local history as well as some factual informaiton on the Civil War. The newest book, Grafton's Medical Men, show the reader what is might have been like as a Vermont surgeon and a hospital seward. The book will take you on an emotional adventure as you follow the main characters and their medical practices.
